Just before dawn on September 2 the sky in the entire world erupted in red, green and purple auroras similar to the Northern Lights but much more intense. The light show was of such magnitude that newsprint could be read with ease as if it were daylight. This phenomenon was witnessed all over the planet at all latitudes.
Telegraph that was at this time still a relatively new invention went haywire everywhere. From this we can assume that a massive solar explosion that emitted a massive EMP pulse produced was the product of the solar flare and resulting light. Telegraph operators reported sparks; electric discharges, and in some cases the ignition of paper telegraph tape. Further revelation was that even after telegraph batteries were disconnected the residual energy in the wiring was sufficient to allow standard sending and receiving of transmissions.
Solar flares are not an anomaly in fact they occur frequently. NASA most commonly identifies them by their X-ray transmissions and radio frequency transmissions that are identified by NASA’s X-ray telescopes, which are in earth orbit. We have no terrestrial problems with standard solar flares; sometimes they interrupt telecommunications or AM radio transmissions but in general terms they do not cause any major problems.
There is however solar flares that seems to erupt about every 1,500 years, which represent a very different situation. It is anticipated that such a solar cycle will take place sometime at the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013. The Mayan calendar functions in cycles (7,885 years) which time is called a K’atun-cycle. The Mayan’s whose calendar is more accurate then our Justinian one produced numerous to date accurate predictions based on their astronomic observations. These K’atun cycles are not the end of time but reflect an anticipated major change in man’s relationships in the universe. We now understand the solar cycles running about 11 years called “Solar Maximum” periodically correspond to minor increased solar activity.
We are today well aware that there have been numerous polarity reversals of the planet as well as solar events that have drastically impacted world climate. From nuclear explosions (the sun is a huge nuclear reactor) we have learned that such explosions produce two distinct side effects, A EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) and a huge X-ray discharge both of which have sever consequences to our planet. These events also cause the sun to emit a huge cloud of charged particles and detached solar magnetic loops that are called CME. These are called “Geomagnetic Storms” because they affect the world’s magnetic fields reeking havoc with radio, TV, and most communications systems. A very large event would without doubt wipe out all satellites, both commercial as well as military.
Our human situation in the 21st century is different from any previous recorded time because our technology today is controlled through solid-state electronics. You must understand that electric generation, telephone, power, even water supply is all controlled by electronic devices. Additionally there are computers, radio’s TV’s, video-cams, photocopiers etc all of which will fail if exposed to an large scale EMP. All of these solid-state electronics, unless properly protected will fail under certain circumstances just as the Western Union system failed in 1859.
Additionally you should be aware that large EMP pulses in Canada just a few years ago, had completely destroyed several large transformers in utilities distribution centers causing power outages that lasted months. It took many months go replace these transformers, which had to be brought from Simens in Germany. In another occurrence on August 4, 1972 an EMP disrupted all long distance telecommunications across the state of Illinois a similar occurrence took place again in 1989 as reported by AT&T.

We are actively seeking funds to allow us to begin extensive planned tests of “Faraday Cages”, and newly developed (pat applied for) wire protective collars.
